Electrolysis
The Only True Permanence

Electrolysis is an elite method of permanent hair removal, approved by the FDA. It allows us to remove any type of hair from almost any area of the body.

Grey, light, red, fluffy, PCOS, thin or nearly colourless hairs that remain after laser treatment — electrolysis is the only effective solution.

Apilus xCell Pro — The World’s Most Precise Electrolysis

At BeautyGene, we use one of the most advanced electrolysis devices — the Apilus xCell Pro. Its fast and precise impulse destroys the hair follicle instantly while remaining gentle on the skin. Sensations are minimal and often compared to physiotherapy.

The high frequency of current (13.56 MHz or 27.12 MHz), combined with specialized circuits, restricts impact to the follicle only.

Clients achieve guaranteed results — destruction of the growth zone — without damaging surrounding skin cells.

Safe for Tattooed Skin

Clear Skin,
Sharp Lines

Clear skin with sharp, defined tattoo lines is the dream of everyone who has ink. If you have a tattoo and unwanted hair, laser hair removal is strictly forbidden.

Laser works directly with pigment, damaging both the tattoo and the skin. The only safe method for permanent hair removal on tattooed skin is electrolysis:

  • Removes hair permanently
  • Does not damage the tattoo
  • Enhances the lines, making the design look cleaner and brighter
  • Suitable for any area and any hair color

The Method

How Does the
Procedure Work?

Electrolysis is a precision method of permanent hair removal working directly at the hair follicle level.

  • A sterile ultra-fine probe is gently inserted into the natural opening of the follicle without damaging the surrounding skin.
  • A controlled high-frequency current is delivered precisely to the root structure of the hair.
  • The energy coagulates the follicle’s regenerative cells and microvascular supply responsible for future hair growth.
  • The treated hair is then carefully removed with no pulling or trauma to the skin.
  • Once a follicle is successfully treated, it loses the ability to produce a new hair.

Because each follicle is treated individually, electrolysis allows permanent removal of all hair types — including blonde, grey, red, fine and hormonally stimulated hair that cannot be targeted by laser technologies.

At APILUS xCell Pro, ultra-fast thermolysis technology enables highly precise energy delivery with maximum comfort, efficiency and minimal skin reaction, making the treatment suitable even for delicate and sensitive areas.

Before & After

Preparation & Aftercare

Preparation
  • Stop waxing, threading, epilating or sugaring — shaving only throughout your entire course
  • Avoid sunbeds and prolonged sun exposure on treatment areas
  • No tanning beds, sun exposure or self-tan products
  • Stop retinoids and exfoliating acids on treatment area
  • Shave the treatment area the day before
  • No creams, lotions or deodorant on the area
  • Arrive with clean, dry skin
  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing
  • Remove jewellery from the treatment area
  • Arrive a few minutes early for your consultation
Post Care

After your electrolysis session, the treated area may appear slightly red or feel sensitive. This is completely normal and typically resolves within a few hours. Keep the area clean and dry, avoid touching it unnecessarily, and do not apply makeup or perfumed products for 24 hours.

Redness

Some redness around the treated follicles is a normal and expected response to electrolysis. It usually fades within a few hours. If redness persists, apply a gentle soothing lotion as advised by your specialist.

Scabs

Tiny scabs may occasionally form on treated areas, especially in the first few sessions. Do not pick or scratch them. Allow them to fall off naturally to avoid scarring or pigmentation changes.

Sun Exposure

Avoid direct sun exposure on treated areas for at least 48 hours after your session. Apply SPF 30+ if the area will be exposed to sunlight. Tanned or recently sun-exposed skin is more sensitive and may react differently to treatment.

Additional Aftercare

Avoid swimming, saunas or steam rooms for 48 hours post-treatment. Do not use exfoliating scrubs or acids on the area for one week. Professional aftercare is provided at your session to ensure comfort and optimal results.

Common Questions

FAQ

Can I tweeze or wax between sessions?
No. You must only shave between electrolysis sessions. Waxing, threading or plucking removes the hair root, which is required for electrolysis to work. Shaving leaves the root intact.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies depending on the area, hair density, and individual factors such as hormonal levels. A typical course involves multiple sessions. Your specialist will give you a personalised estimate during your consultation.
Is electrolysis painful?
Sensations are usually minimal and often compared to those felt during physiotherapy. Anaesthesia is available in the clinic if needed, especially for sensitive areas.
How long should my hair be before treatment?
For electrolysis, the hair must be long enough to be grasped with tweezers after treatment. Shave the area the day before your appointment to ensure the hair is at the right length.
Can I have electrolysis on tanned skin?
Electrolysis is suitable for all skin types including tanned skin. However, please inform your specialist of any recent sun exposure, as very recently tanned skin may be more sensitive.
Is it truly permanent?
Yes. Electrolysis is the only hair removal method recognised as permanent by the FDA. When the follicle is correctly treated, the hair will not regrow.
Can you treat all hair colours?
Yes. Unlike laser, electrolysis works on all hair colours including grey, white, blonde, red and fine hair. It is the ideal solution for hair that laser cannot effectively target.
Can I have electrolysis on tattooed skin?
Yes. Electrolysis is the only safe method for permanent hair removal on tattooed skin. Unlike laser, it does not interact with pigment and will not damage your tattoo.
