A scar is dense connective tissue that results from the regeneration process occurring at sites of injury, skin disease, or surgical sutures. Scarring is a natural process, but scars, especially rough ones or those located on exposed parts of the body, can cause emotional and physical discomfort. Laser scar removal using the Candela Co2 Re device can help eliminate the problem or reduce its severity.

Fractional laser resurfacing using the CO2RE Candela device is an effective method of removing scars and stretch marks, using laser pulses to stimulate the production of new collagen and skin regeneration.

The procedure creates microscopic areas of impact, which triggers the natural healing process and reduces the visibility of scar tissue. It is important to follow the skin care recommendations before and after the procedure to speed up healing and prevent infections.

How the procedure works?

Preliminary consultation

Before consulting with a specialist, a patient agreement with the clinic is filled out, and detailed information is provided on the equipment that will be used for the procedure. During the preliminary consultation, the doctor collects your medical history and, during the conversation, identifies your needs for eliminating aesthetic imperfections and the expected effects of the procedure.

Preparation for the procedure

The process of taking photos before the procedure is equally important and necessary for comparing and objectively assessing the results obtained after the laser procedure. At the same time as taking photos before the procedure, we examine your skin to measure the depth of vascular pathologies and the relief of the skin in the area of the scar, scar tissue or stretch marks. This is necessary in order to select the most effective treatment parameters. Precisely selected parameters on the equipment guarantee the high effectiveness of the procedure.

Determination of individual parameters

An individual laser treatment protocol is selected in accordance with your wishes and an objective assessment of your skin. You will be asked to cleanse your skin before the laser removal of vascular components or before the laser resurfacing procedure. To minimise discomfort during the procedure, we will offer you topical anaesthesia.

Performing the procedure

Depending on the area, the procedure can last from 5 to 20 minutes. After it is completed, the doctor will apply a soothing agent to the skin and give you recommendations to follow for two weeks after the procedure.

Today we want to share the case of Victoria, our laser hair removal specialist in the past and a regular client of ours.

In 2022, Victoria was severely bitten by a dog. The severity of the situation can be seen in the photos: she had multiple lacerations on her face, and she permanently lost parts of her lips.

She underwent plastic surgery for facial reconstruction, followed by months of recovery and rehabilitation.

As a result, after the surgery, she was left with stitches on her face that pulled her skin together, causing her brow to sit close to her eye. The surgeons did their job, but the scars not only affected her appearance but also caused swelling. It was necessary to work specifically on the scars to stretch and soften them. Dr. Sitnic began a course of procedures that stretched over two years, and the results are stunning. Injections were used to prepare the scars for laser resurfacing. The fifth photo shows the starting point from which we began restoring Victoria’s face at our clinic.

The ninth photo is currently how far we have come, thanks to the professionalism and qualifications of our specialists. A tremendous amount of work and a long path to recovery were accomplished:

– A course of microneedling aimed at softening scars

– A course of peels

– A course of polynucleotides

– A course of PRP

Additionally, the meticulous work of our doctor, cosmetologist, and laser surgeon Alexander Sitnic, using the most effective Candela co2 re laser.
